Furniture design

​​As​​ a trained furniture designer / maker, with an added specialism in designing products for disabled people, Helen has knowledge of ergonomics, materials and detailed construction.
Helen also redesigned the tactile rotating cone for Transport for London, which was installed across the UK for controlled pedestrian crossings to improve safety for people with sight and hearing loss.
Her furniture has been sold world-wide and she has won a number awards for her designs:
– Royal College of Art/Helen Hamlyn design
award for seating for children with cerebral-
palsy;
– DEMAND award for inclusive product design
– Blueprint/Ness Furniture award for contract
seating; and
– FX Magazine/Margo Moore Award for contract
seating.
